Volunteer with the BBFF2020 Team
Information for Volunteers & Interns
Our Volunteers and Interns are the backbone of Byron Bay International Film Festival. They come from all walks of life and help us build Australia’s favourite Film Festival with 175+ films each year. Without their passion and dedication, we would not be able to bring talented filmmakers and an open, intelligent audience together. Our team is made up of Volunteers and Interns from various backgrounds, coming together to share their experience, energy and/or skills.
The Byron Bay Film Festival is made possible through the enormous effort of our wonderful volunteers. Their ambition helps us create a fascinating event each year.
You are a film-lover and have some free time on your hands? We would love to hear from you! To get in touch with us, kindly fill out the form below. If you are having trouble viewing or submitting this form please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Priority is being given to volunteers with RSA and Serving Experience or a Love of Cooking for your fellow team members.
What Our Volunteers Say About Their Experiences
Poppy – Schools Team: I loved working with BBFF. It’s such an energetic, interesting and dynamic team, and so rewarding to all work together to bring the festival to our town.
Fiona – Classifications: Volunteering with BBFF was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I went in thinking it might be a couple of hours’ work here and there. It turned out to be a lot more than that but I think you get out what you put in. Having the responsibility for an entire task, and knowing that the directors are really trusting you to get it done correctly and on time meant that I was putting in my best effort. Seeing a huge local event like this come together and knowing that you really played a large role was amazing.
Jenny – Volunteers Management: It’s a lot of fun and a great chance to work with passionate people.
Jemima – Artist Liaison, Production Management: Volunteering to be a part of the BBFF team was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I made since moving to Byron. Many of my close friends today I met while we were volunteering for the festival. As a newcomer to the area it was a terrific way to get to know the community, local media and make connections that often led to new work opportunities. The buzz around festival time is infectious – everyone is busy, but it’s so much fun!
James – Bar: Volunteering at the Byron bay Film Festival is a great opportunity to get behind the scenes and gain valuable experience in the film and events industry. The BBFF relies heavily on volunteers to make it the internationally renowned festival that it is, so I really encourage you to come along and be a part of the magic. Great people, awesome films and fun times guaranteed.
An Internship with Byron Bay International Film Festival is a great way to get work experience while you are in school or Uni. We are happy to give you a space to learn, grow and share your skills with others. We welcome Interns from all around the world.
