Set where the forest meets the wild southern ocean in lutruwita/Tasmania a young girl acknowledges her intimate connection to Country and gives thanks to the place she calls home.
Capturing the stunning bush of Paredarerme Country we follow Amber as she immerses herself in the living world around her home. As she pays respect to the traditional custodians we witness the animals and plants living there, many of which are threatened species.
Amber leaves us with a simple message - look after the land and the land will look after us. Ultimately, the film hopes to inspire people to look after the patch of Earth they call home.
Filmed and produced by conservationist and artist Kristan Laemmle-Ruff, Turrakana Home aims to communicate how special this Country is and why it is so important to protect for future generations - human and non-human.
