For several years along-side our established program of cutting-edge film content we launched Co_Lab_Create, a weekend of events, workshops and masterclasses specifically aimed at the growing Virtual Reality (VR)/ Augmented Reality (AR) sectors and the industries that have helped drive the creation of this medium – Venture Capital, Gaming, Film & VFX.
A networking, collaborative think-tank for Professionals seeking to unleash their creativity, grow their technical knowledge and the possibilities for Australasia’s XR Industry. Co_Lab_Create provides connections, skills and knowledge enhancement in the unique and beautiful setting of one of the world’s most famous beachside towns.
BBFF has a history of facilitating fresh collaborative and business partnerships and this is the spirit of Co_Lab_Create. Our intention to help grow a strong, stable and informed Australasian XR community who value best practice and innovative ideas.
Once again in 2019 for our 4th annual edition of Co_Lab_Create we are bringing representatives from leading and emerging Australian and New Zealand VR/AR/VFX companies together to discuss, debate and discover. Our International delegates list always includes representatives from some of the world’s most dynamic companies and creatives working in this field. If you’re working in this realm new connections are ready to be built at this very special event.

Project Manager for Toast VR, makers of the top selling VR game Richie’s Plank Experience, currently holds a leadership position within the Queensland’s Women in VR organisation and Frontier XR, a non profit dedicated in helping promote the XR industry within Brisbane.
Award-winning Australian director and producer, with a background in fine arts and a passion for social justice, director and producer of Virtual Reality documentary Carriberrie which premiered at the Australian Museum in Sydney and screened at Sydney Film Festival as well as at NEXT in the 2018 March du Film, Cannes.

With over 15 years of post-production experience in the film industry, Matt is now part of the EDGE CT team that has been recently considering the best ways for the ordinary cinema patron to access these immersive stories in a safe communal space.
Founder of Josephmark, Breeder, Gilimbaa and We Are Hunted. As JM’s Founder, Ben leads a team who consistently create and launch innovative digital products like Australian startup chart Vest, catch-up news platform Hash and social music discovery site Undrtone.
Self-taught software solutions architect with wide and varying experience spanning over 30 years, spent seven years as an entrepreneur in the AR/VR/Vision/Games industry, having successfully led teams through the full life cycle of software development and designed large scale, globally distributed complex systems.
Co-director of Indig-tell, an Indigenous driven VR/AR start-up that specialises in Aboriginal content for cultural preservation, education and gaming. Ljudan sits on the WIFT AUS board as Diversity Lead and is the curator for the Indigenous VR content for VR CAI (Siggraph) International Conference, Brisbane 2019.
Multi-award-winning Actor, Screenwriter and Director and is currently in development on his debut feature film, Home and recently completed an ABC & Create NSW funded pilot for his Virtual Reality Mini-Series, The Obscure. Tel has written and directed commercial content for high profile clients such as Netflix and Urban Walkabout.
Alex Ben Mayor
Holds a Master of Technology and Innovation Management and maintains an interest in VR, AR and immersive technologies including haptic, and audio/visual augmentation, currently based at the Queensland Brain Institute leading the commercial strategy development for a new neurological drug delivery platform technology using ultrasound.
Award-winning feature film writer, director and producer, with experience in games development, now works on developing and financing Australian features, TV and Interactive Media while researching for his PhD in Dramaturgy in VR.
Kacper is a Principal Lawyer at Creative Artists Law, an entertainment law firm specialising in Film, Music, Games and IT law. He has 16 years of experience advising on major projects and intellectual property, including work on the Marvel and Bond franchises, as well as local film and television productions.
Kris is an entertainment lawyer and co-founder of Creative Artists Law based at Village Roadshow Studios. He started out working in computer games. Today he specialises in entertainment, IT and intellectual property law and has over 13 years of legal experience, having worked both in Australia and abroad.
