St Elmo is a drama set in rural Australian town six months after a devastating bushfire. In the winter following the disaster, a father (Peter) and teenage son (Joshua) struggle with the loss of their wife/mother. Peter attempts to deal with his grief by isolating himself to the town’s watchtower; determined to ensure such a tragedy never happens again. Meanwhile Joshua becomes frustrated and restless in his seclusion, feeling like he needs some kind of closure that he can’t get from his father, who refuses to grieve with him. Desperately Joshua tries to get his fathers attention and force Peter to confront his reality and mourn with his son.
